Misha Townsend-Cardamone is from Atlanta, Georgia, and after attending Georgia State University, she attended Nursing School at Brenau University and then completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern California. She moved to Florida in 1995 and began working for Florida Hospital Waterman, where she helped open the Surgery Center and worked there until 1998, when she had her first daughter. She then stayed at home with her two daughters until 2008, when she began to help Gary with bookkeeping from their home-based office. This mother of two daughters and stepmother of two daughters had better ideas for the family guest room. Securing a small office on beautiful Park Avenue was her vision; a place where ideas and hard work would lead to collaboration and success. Her insistence that the business could grow, even in the worst economic conditions, along with her financial investment, provided the spark that was needed. Soon, Misha’s bookkeeping duties were turned over. She now oversees the company’s day-to-day operations, from accounting and draw processing to facility-design standards.

Gary Cardamone originally hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but currently calls Winter Park, Florida home. Mr. Cardamone graduated from Clarion University with a degree in Economics and Computer Science. Mr. Cardamone quickly realized his potential as an entrepreneur, having a knack for relationship building, project management, and feasibility analysis. Following a successful stretch in the medical devices business, he shifted his attention to the self-storage asset class, where he saw great potential in the development space. Mr. Cardamone and his brother Rich moved to Central Florida, and in 1999 became self-storage developers and owners, operating seven USA Stor-A-Way facilities. A few years later, Gary bootstrapped an electronic payments platform initially targeting the self-storage industry that today processes more than $1.5 billion for over 4,000 clients, totaling more than 1.5 million transactions. Gary Cardamone has developed, owned, and operated approximately 2,000,000 square feet of self-storage and retail space across various Florida markets, before selling the first round of developments in 2007. In 2014, Mr. Cardamone launched Nuvo Development.

Mr. Canin joined Gary Cardamone in 2014 as Partner and Vice president of Real Estate. Mr. Canin is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and negotiating the development of new properties located throughout the Northeastern and Southeastern United States. Jason earned his undergraduate degree in Economics with a minor concentration in Real Estate from Florida State University. He has varied experience in the real estate industry, primarily in the field of market research, brokerage, and development consulting. Prior to joining Nuvo, Mr. Canin was with Charles Wayne Company for 23 years. As Vice President of Charles Wayne Properties, Inc., Mr. Canin primarily focused on large-scale land transactions as well as finished lot transactions servicing the home builder and developer communities within the state of Florida, exceeding $750,000,000 in real estate transactions. Mr. Canin is a member of the Association of Florida Community Developers (AFCD) and is routinely a speaker and panel member at national real estate conferences. Since joining Nuvo, Mr. Canin has sourced and negotiated, contracted, and in conjunction with the Nuvo Team, initiated the development of sixteen self-storage sites that equates to approximately 1.6 million square feet.

Rich is also from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. As Vice President of Operations, Rich is responsible for Equity Partner and Lender updates and managing the Nuvo accounting, finance, and development teams. His primary goal is managing the growing pipeline of self-storage development and acquisition projects through the Nuvo production process. He is directly responsible for coordinating the asset management team, from pre-lease-up through stabilization, and working closely with the third-party operating partners. From 2000 to 2007, Rich was the COO of USA Stor-A-Way, Inc., working alongside his brother Gary. Together, they developed, owned, and operated over 780,000 square feet of Class-A self-storage in Florida until they divested the assets in 2007. Rich was instrumental in running the day-to-day operations of the development team and management team for the USA Stor-A-Way brand. On the development side, Rich implemented many design improvements to enhance tenant experience. He developed grassroots marketing programs, store-in-a-store retail add-ons, and continuity programs to increase customer awareness and length of stay. Prior to the self-storage industry, Rich spent 34 years as a successful, highly motivated, and adaptable senior executive in the consumer products industry with Fortune 50, mid-size and high-growth start-ups including Glaxo-Smith Kline, ConAgra, Rexall-Sundown, Celsius, and Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

As Chief Financial Officer, Dan manages Nuvo’s financial reporting, finances, development project valuation, risk management, and assists with lender and investor capital sources. His primary goal is to monitor and manage the investment in and financial performance of self-storage development projects to maximize profit and cash flow within its industry-leading operational and risk management parameters. Dan has a long history of accounting, financial, and executive related experience. Prior to Nuvo, Dan was CEO of a $700 million community bank, has approximately 30 years in the banking industry, and co-founded a de novo bank. Prior to banking, Dan spent five years of diversified financial and managerial experience at KPMG, an international accounting firm, as a Certified Public Accountant primarily servicing the insurance, commodity, and banking industries. Dan is a graduate of St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Tonya manages planners, architects, civil engineers, as well as other third-party professionals. Having graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Tonya handles all aspects of the projects through entitlement to construction, including schedules, contracts, document control, invoice approval, and design review. She spent a large portion of her career working in the transportation industry as a project manager and engineer of record on numerous public and private projects. She has permitted projects through multiple agencies, including FDOT, Florida’s Turnpike, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the cities of Orlando, Winter Park, and Winter Garden, Florida.

Gregg Lehrer is a Partner at GrayRobinson, P.A., Orlando, Florida, and serves as General Counsel for Nuvo Development Partners and its affiliated entities. Gregg is a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer who brings more than 30 years of transactional experience to his comprehensive commercial real estate and real estate finance practice. He collaborates with a diverse portfolio of clients, including regional and national developers, lenders and financial institutions, owners, landlords and tenants, public and private companies, REITs, and other CRE investors with interests across a range of asset classes. Gregg has developed expertise handling acquisitions within the commercial retail sector, connecting capital with opportunity for clients across the state and nationally, as well as representing landlords and tenants in all types of commercial property leasing matters, from office and retail leases to shopping center, warehouse, self-storage facilities, and outparcel leasing.

Gregg provides sophisticated legal and business counsel for clients seeking transactional expertise throughout all phases of the deal lifecycle. His experience includes the full scope of commercial real estate matters, including development and financing, contract preparation and negotiations, closings, multifamily housing, retail, office, and industrial properties, landlord/tenant matters, leasing, easements and land use, lender documentation, HOAs, POAs, and condominium development. Gregg works to carefully understand and integrate income and growth objectives, as well as volatile market conditions affecting complex financing transactions. He helps clients structure, organize, and optimize the capital stack while balancing risk and other business priorities.

Jared Farmer is a successful licensed general contractor, developer, and construction executive. He has excelled in guiding all facets of construction projects from concept to completion for over 29 years.

His salient experience includes self-storage, light industrial, healthcare, retail, and office facilities, with a focused career in design/build construction projects. As a construction executive, Jared is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of Nuvo Development’s projects. Jared ensures cost, schedule, and quality objectives are met.

Jared interfaces with Owners, Brokers, Architecture & Engineering team members, and contractors, providing direction on accounting functions, and supervises the contracting, scheduling, bidding, and contract administration process. Jared has a B.S. in Construction Management from Michigan State University and post-graduate work in finance.

Hamilton Sweeney, a Winter Park, Florida native, is a recent alumnus of Florida State University, where he achieved degrees in Finance and Real Estate. Hamilton undertook a brief yet impactful internship with Nuvo Development Partners during the summer preceding his senior year. Upon completing his studies, he decided to rejoin Nuvo, this time in a full-time capacity as a Financial Analyst. Hamilton’s academic mastery and early career experiences make him a valuable asset in finance and real estate.

Shayne Cardamone, a native of Florida, is a dynamic professional with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Her career journey has been marked by versatility, leading her to specialize in sales and business-related roles.

Shayne serves as a Business Development Associate at both Nuvo Company and Nuvo Development. In this capacity, she plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the business unit. Her responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of tasks, including, assisting the VP of Operations, sales, social media management, and market analysis.

She is an avid reader, often seeks adventures in nature, and is a loving dog mom. Shayne Cardamone is a well-rounded professional who excels in her career while maintaining a rich and fulfilling personal life.

Andrew has over 19 years of public accounting experience and currently serves as a Partner in the Business Advisory Services Practice. He brings a wealth of knowledge in financial reports, agreed-upon procedures, transaction due diligence, partnership, and flow-through taxation. He has served various industries including senior housing, construction, real estate, and various service industries.

Andrew is a graduate of the prestigious Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a degree in Accounting and Finance under his belt. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS), giving him even more credibility when it comes to professional consulting services on complex accounting matters.

Christina serves as the Deputy CFO for Nuvo Development where she oversees cash flow management, project feasibility analysis, and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the overall financial success of development projects, with a specific focus on the self-storage sector.

In recent years, Christina held the roles of Divisional Controller and CFO for the largest homebuilder in the U.S. Her extensive financial expertise extends across key domains, including land acquisition and development, vertical construction, rental feasibility, overhead cost control, contract negotiations, and the overall management of internal and financial controls. Christina’s impact extended beyond the financial realm, as she consistently enhanced business processes and fostered cross-functional relationships throughout the organization.

Before discovering her passion for real estate, Christina spent time in forensic accounting then later honed her skills in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she engaged with a diverse portfolio of Fortune 500 and multi-national private firms across various industries, including residential construction, entertainment, industrial and consumer products.

A proud UCF alumna, Christina holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). As a Florida native, she calls the Sunshine State her home, where she lives with her loving husband and two lovely daughters.

Taylor brings over 12 years of extensive experience in the self-storage industry, specializing in asset management, process development, and strategic reporting. With a robust background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and business intelligence, Taylor has consistently driven portfolio growth and optimized property performance. During his 11-year tenure at Simply Self Storage, Taylor grew his career through operations and finance ending as the VP of Asset Management. He was a key player in the expansion of the portfolio from 100 to over 250 self-storage assets. His strategic involvement facilitated multiple successful transactions between prominent private equity groups, including Tavistock, Brookfield, and Blackstone, positioning Simply Self Storage as a leader in the industry. One of Taylor’s notable achievements includes building a high-performing team of analysts dedicated to developing data-driven, scalable processes, which significantly contributed to the company’s success. Taylor earned his BS in Marketing from the University of Central Florida.
